Personally, as this game has become more of a micropayment system, it would make more sense to keep subscriptions a vital role but give it bonuses. (As most membership/sub-styled items in games with micropayment)
Ie) 10% more prestige gain and 10% less prestige loss type of effects..
That could also easily be expanded to other items too, one specifically to add an extra 10% ontop of sub for gains, and one for loss.
Not to mention items to semi-permanently increase ship slots/cargo slots. etc.
If they do something with it to fit more of the micropayment system model, I will probably resub. Currently, I am more keen/inclined to buy enhancements.

Im waiting for the coming changes to take place and see how it affects gameplay.After the last nerf ICC got,I decided not to pay as it made the game that much less enjoyable,as fairness in the game went out the window.
