You can only use tractor beams on objects - not ships.

Disappointing yes, but you CAN tractor platforms, and since a lot of people put them in very close proximity to a planet it's rather easy to make them crash into it.

does the size of my ship have any bearing on how much control i have over the object or platform?

the manual a little out of date you use to be able to push or pull ships but what they used to call and tractor scout (the exctor full outfiteed with tractor beams) they used it ti push ships into planet and people thought it wasn't funny so was put into the roc not to do it but then latter they just removed that option now it just another system that has no real use in darkspace now

I'm pretty sure that's still against ROC. even if it were not, it's look down upon, in the same manners as scraping planets, mirving, SYing and dictors.

If u want to risk it, prep u self to face some angry dread giving ur a angry-disruptor-shower, repeatedly.

If I remember right that rule was against tractoring players through planets when you were on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE PLANET. Thus giving them no chance at stopping you.

Tractoring players was perfictially fine (atleast when I was around), yes some ppl may hate it, but honestly it was quite funny .

yeah I think Doda is right. It was when u could pull a station thru the planet. I dont remember tractoring being a violation outside of that.

In the older days, the realy best use was to shove away ships who were trying to park under your station. Hated that lol.
