Desync can be a bit part of, since it can show you your health, yet its not really your health, you cna see 25% but your actually 2%, and your splash damage would kill you= sefl- destruct
However, i never seen this happen befor, no matther how many AD/EAD shot even getting hurt by there own Splash, never seen a player self-destruct to its own splash damage

You ran into some asteroids, you will get a Destroyed by ?! if you run into asteroids and die.

I've had that happen in places where asteroids are nowhere near. I don't know the game code, but it might be possible to get that if two people hit the player at exactly the same time, causing enough damage to kill... In which case the game might not know who to give credit to and just pops up ?!

I've seen the "x player has been destroyed by ?!" a few times where no Asteroids were nearby, they just took damage and died seemingly from nothing.

When a player or item kills another player and is removed before the item causing the last hit causes the death you see the blank "?!" message. This is purely to fix an issue that crashed the client/server that cropped up a while back. Tracking items of parents that have long left the game world is not an option, so we decided on that fix.
As far as self-destructing - don't jump into your own projectiles, or shoot enemies at very close range with no hull. You're damaging yourself, and if the last bit of damage that caused you to die came from you well... you self-destructed.
