Basic Elements
- Combat: Damages Ship
- Support: Supplies Ship
- Bombing: Damages Planet
- Engineering: Constructs Buildings
Special Elements
- Kamikaze: Damages Ship by Death Explosion. Add bonus prestige to Combat. Bonus = Kamikaze prestige x 2
- Destruction: Kills Ship. Add bonus prestige to Combat. Bonus depends on destroyed ship class: scout +5, frigate + 10, destroyer + 20, cruiser + 40, dreadnaught + 80, station + 160.
- Privateering: Capturing Enemy by Infantries. Add bonus prestige to Engineer. Bonus = 10 per unit captured
- Beacon: Launch Beacon at Enemy. Add prestige to Support. Bonus = 2 per legal beacon hit
- Transport: Kills Infantries. Add prestige for Bombing. Bonus = Transport prestige x 2
- Extra: Scenario Victory’s Prestige. Add bonus to all basic elements
Medals
- Defense: 25 Privateering, 1000 Scout, 500 Destruction
- Star Fury: 50 Privateering, 1000 Transport, 1500 Destruction
- Sirius Combat: 100 Privateering, 1000 Kamikaze, 3000 Destruction
Negligence
FF minuses prestige in particular element. Special Elements loss impacts on Basic Element.
E.g.: FF kamikaze takes away combat prestige, kamikaze prestige (-2x combat prestige), destruction prestige and possibly transport prestige (-2x bombing prestige). Beacon hit friendly ship minuses Beacon prestige, hence -2 Support.

- First Lieutenant: 80 Prestige each Basic Element
- Captain: 160 Prestige each Basic Element
- Major: 320 Prestige each Basic Element

- Colonel: 1280 Prestige each Basic Element
- Brigadier General: 2560 Prestige each Basic Element
- Major General: 5120 Prestige each Basic Element
- Lieutenant General: 10240 Prestige each Basic Element, Defense Medal
- General: 20480 Prestige each Basic Element, Star Fury Medal
- Marshal: 40960 Prestige each Basic Element

Penalty
- Prestige loss varies according to ship class. E.g.: a dead Hive may take away 1100 Support, 700 Combat (-160 destruction included), 200 Bombing; a dead Nest may take away 1200 Combat (-160 destruction included), 700 Support, 100 Bombing; a dead Colony may take away 400 Bombing, 800 Support, 500 Combat (-160 destruction included), 300 Engineering.
- When a ship is destroyed, its infantries share the same fate. Consequently, Bombing Prestige decreases as considering infantries are scrapped
I think this new ranking system may effective in various way.
Some UGTO ships are ICC's namesake, so I just type one. Ship rank may change when the new ship layouts come out. [ This Message was edited by: Diep Luc on 2010-07-11 15:43 ]

current ranking system good enough, yours is a bit complicated and unbalanced

Effective way to stop noobs in supply ships running here and there, it coerces people to be allrounders in each skill. While this is taxing to some, it is ideal for those who are jacks of all trades but masters of none.
The elementary classification is good, antiship, antiplanet, ship help, planet help.
The ranks are similar to army ranks, i would recommend changing it to something pertaining to the ranking system of the current DarkSpace, i.e. navy ranks. Their given values are good.
The medals are rather taxing, each requiring considerable anti-ship skills to achieve.
The earnings and penalty from ship destruction and ship loss are a little extreme, there is scope for a less offputting penalty and less onputting earning. Currently, we gain 30-50 prestige for a dread killed, and 60-80 for a station.
Overall, a well-thought out idea. Almost what DarkSpace needs to slow down the people who earn prestige without skill. Good work.

The way I read it kills are rewarded, not just damage. This is not currently the case and I think it should stay that way.

Which is exactly why it won't be implemented. People will QQ if you take away ships, ranks, and badges they already "earned".

They must QQ, because they don't deserve such powerful ships. And badges are becoming something common, they have lost their value. Whats a big game without some serious requirement of devotion?
