I think I agree with the general feel of Antra's opinions above, although I can see why they might have had their ewar reduced: To make it so that ships that rely on stealthiness can't make themselves stealthy.

The ED/picket dessie would seem like prime subjects for having extra electronic warfare, since they're escort ships and thus you'd expect them to be able to keep an eye out for enemies.

Alternatively (or additionally), perhaps a dedicated "wild weasel" destroyer with lots of ewar might be nice. If big ships lean towards killing things and small ships are more specialised, giving destroyers an ewar option feels to me like it might the the right way to go.

Agreed. I'm all for big ships being specialized too, but if you don't know what you're doing with them the universe is far less forgiving. High rank and/or high badge ships, etc.

Is there a way to lock a gadget to ECCM/Scanner, or even just ECCM?
