Quick Chat Menu for DarkSpace? |

Did a quick search, but I can't find any thing related to “quick chat” or “chat menu” and find it some what hard to believe that it hasn't been brought up before.
I believe this game would greatly benefit from a basic yet simple quick chat system. Like most first person shooters, a quick tap of the Quick Chat Menu key, would follow by a menu with predefined choices to send to chat.
Chat as communication is slow and often becomes some what of a handicap to use during battle. A simple quick chat system could greatly improve communication during combat. Currently there is little to no communication when your right in the middle of it, dodging enemy fire and trying to out maneuver your opponents.
Just plain chat might not be noticed in the current chat system, so maybe paired with simple soft audio notification to make players slightly more aware of it could do the trick.
A few predefined message examples
“Follow me!” or “Form on my wing!”
“Attack my target, ”
“Fall back!” or “Retreat!”
“Yes” and “No”
“I'm pulling out!” or “I'm falling back”
“Cloaked enemy!” “Enemy Interdictor!”

with some new additions:

once i played a space game similar to this execpt it was mostly fighter class ships with 3d movement in first person view (sux, devs please dont do that, and if u do plez do it in third person)... well any way, if u pressed ~ it would bring up a menu that had several basic things to say and several catagories that brought up another list depending on the catagory, everything was within 3 key presses, like ~yy would bring up a catagory and select a sentence that said 'Read the chat!' and everything there was audiable. it was frequently used in battle and it would be evan better if u could manouevre while selecting what to say. there should also be a way to bann a person for spamming for a couple seconds or minutes. and thats all ive got to say about that.
