Is the same small % of pres lost from someone u r grouped with if they die then is gained?

What i mean is: if you are a new player flying a scout, and u r grouped with a dread pilot, then if the dread pilot gains the amount of pres his ship is worth, then dies, will u be left with about as much pres as what u started with?

make sence?

Yes Space, if you lose x amount of prestige, then all players in the group lose a percentage of x. This is to stop older players in dreads boosting new players without risk.

forgot some people will "power rank" newbies,
in that case i'll agree with pres lost being shared

So is there a distance factor, or do you just get it no matter where you are. I can see this being a problem grouping with someone else and going afk all day just to get pres.

This is why its a SMALL amount. If someone just AFK's and sits there and gains pres and ranks up, they will be a very sucky player in a dread. With all the super leveling going on now, you can tell that most players now don't know how to use there dreads much less stations, properly.

Also they will be gaining and losing pres at the same time, so someone dies in a major combat else where, while one is building on something else the AFKer will lose net pres rather then gain it. Since he would be gaining very little from the builder and be losing more from the death of someone else. Depending on how many can be grouped this could be a mute issue or might become one later on. Time will tell.

We're currently looking at groups of up to eight.

Cool. Hunting and killing those fleeing, wounded stations n dreads is gonna be the rage.

Let the gankings begin!

Personally, I predict screams of "Drop XXXXXX from the group he's about to die!!!! HURRY!!!" or "XXXX is about to die in a station!! EVICT EVICT!!"

Do players have to be in the same server to share stats? I would assume so...

LOL. Reminds me of an old saying

'Smile, and the whole world smiles with you.
Fart, and you stand alone'

Hard to lose pres? Maybe for those with AD/Krill(?)/EAD.

I wish there was a way to allocate more pres to ships who are not capable of gaining pres on their own -- i.e. EW support, interdictor. Doesn't sound like it's going to be easy to balance as-is.

Around some people I know it's more like "fart and everyone else laughs their ass off"

You have to make shared prestige bonus prestige only, or we will have people earning badges that they never actually earned. I never liked the idea of someone grouping with an engineer and earning his engineering badges even if he never once uses an engineer ship or has no idea how to build, or earning transport or supply badges when all he does is fly an interceptor frigatte.

Bonus prestige only. That's a good enough reward for grouping while keeping the requirement to earn your badges.
