It makes no sense to be able to give any player faction an AI that is OP for all things concerned. A dreadnaught that can level a planet in a single shot and that can really hurt anything else if you get too close shouldn't be allowed to be captured.

On a storyline note:
If Mi are meant to be as powerful as they are, and they have almost erradicated K'luth then how come a few human infantry pods can capture it? This race is super advanced with the ability to flatten ships/planets that are close to it and yet a single group of infantry can take over the ship and then get it work on their own? How will the conquering inf manage to hotwire a MI ship if its that far ahead of the rest of the game technologically?

That being said, how do you even board a MI ship? What.. attach onto the hull and hope it doesn't shake you off/swat you/shoot you and then keep digging into the hull til you find whats inside? At that, whats to say the environment inside a MI ship is even inhabitable?

I think it's safe to say that Infantry use powered armor, or at the very least environmental armor that's designed to protect them from biological agents and hard vaccuum.

As to how they can capture MI ships.....well, Humans are used to dealing with technology and machines and it's not such a stretch to say they'd eventually be able to figure out what makes them tick and do some reprogramming.

I'll make the MI uncapturable then.

Honestly, you guys complain the MI are too easy, what do you think we're going to do?

Pro-tip: Don't brag about how easy the MI are to kill infront of the dev team (especially me).

It's so easy to kill a Longhead from a distance. Their attack power is terrible.

MI death beams= massive fun.

Honestly, if you guys can't kill 1 of them:

A. Your tactics are no good
2. Your teamwork is no good
3. Your communication is terrible.

Just saying.

Actually i think it might be hard to cap a longhead since they move really, really fast (for a dread)

Make them uncappable, and also more deadly to ships, they always seem to try to run away

Giving the dumbest ships in the game the biggest weapon is equivalent to giving a 4 year old a Vette.

They both drive about as well, too.

I'm still trying to figure out the purpose for this unexplained evolution in MI destructiveness. Is this going somewhere? Is this some attempt at ballance? Is DS changing into a space version of WoW with massive AI to deal with? Is this some drunken pill popping delusion gone awry? I sthere more down the road?

I just hope there is a REASON for all...this.

At least the MI give us all something we can come together on. In other words, friend or foe, drop what you're doing and aim for the MI. Now that would be an epic battle.

Perhaps that is what the dev team is wanting. an opponent for all.

As far as being able to capture MI ships, it's all in good fun. and whoever is fast enough and skilled enough to board a MI ship, all the power to them. They have a serious upper hand in warfare. Why not use it?
