One last thing:
There should be an announcement when someone scraps infantry on a planet. Today when ICC broke into epsilon I saw a k'luth planet go from 32 inf to 0 inf without a single structure being destroyed or population lowered. Someone obviously scrapped the infantry on that planet, I called out to K'luth to check it out but no one seemed to care. |

I've seen this happen before, but unfortunately there's really nothing that can be done about it since there's no broadcast saying who disbanded the troops like there is when someone scraps/deactivates/activates planet structures.

oh i see the problem in scen here, where you scrap many inf to get your pop up

When I first started playing DS, I joined a clan. When K'Luth came out, I then joined PB. But since I left I have not bothered joining a clan as I have more fun playing the two better factions, UGTO and K'Luth. You would not catch me playing ICC in the MV

TEAM BALANCING for MV is the fix. The problem is that the MV is rarely balanced. So if you're fleeted, you're locked to a faction.
If you're unfleeted, you should be subjected to team balancing.
Why should this be so bad for unfleeted players?
Why should this be bad for the game? This will help to mitigate the "Numbers will always win" situation that we see so often here. And it will help to mitigate the faction-hopper issues for everyone.
This is a free game. Even other team-based shooters and games that you have to purchase (BF2, Crysis, COD, etc) have team balancing ... and even CLASS-LIMITS *hint hint* .... And their players have to accept that fact.
Why are DS players such crybabies who need that silver platter shoved up their butts?

bingo.
If u like playing a certain faction that much, get fleeted.
Otherwise don't complain. If you can't get into Kluth today 'cos the team is full, then play ICC or UGTO. After all, you're not fleeted and you don't have any alleigiances. It shouldn't be a problem to play that particular faction another day when it's not full.

Exactly. Be kinda like scen sept bigger battles and no fleet member vs fleet member

Erm not exactly.
Fleeted and unfleeted players alike will be taken into account for the population size.
Fleeted players will be forced to their respective factions, while unfleeted members will be given an option for which factions are available to join based on the balance.
Eg:
Kluth - 15 players (all fleeted), UGTO 7 fleeted, 5 unfleeted, ICC, 2 fleeted, 4 unfleeted.
Obviously ICC and UGTO will be made available to the unfleeted player.

I disagree on the forced faction joining due to balance.
Playing different ships is fine. For some one like myself who has not decided on a fleet I wish to commit myself to and a garage full of one faction's ships with enhancements. It's hard to play on another faction when you have no space for a new ship.
But a lock out timer should be in place upon deciding what faction you join while unfleeted. This would deter most faction swappers that switch on a dime at the sign of things going badly for the current faction they are playing on or those who wish to spy/sabotage by swapping sides.

I'm not referring to scen. I mean in MV when a planet suddenly goes from 32 troops to 0, back up to whatever number from all the barracks, then back to 0 again, then gets captured shortly after, all without being bombed.
And no, it's not ECM bombing when population/tech does not decrease and structures are not destroyed/damaged.

I agree with Kenny here. There should be team balancing in the MV.

There is no way you will be able to balance the teams in MV. Not unless you make alot of players very angry. I for one would create a fleet just for myself as I would not want to be subject to playing on a faction I don't want to play.

look at it this way. unfleeted are more like mercs, ya appreciate their help but dont get surprised if they feel like swapping.
its just nice to have another guy on the team even if they are often ur enemy.
