I'm just going to go ahead and do the egotistical thing and say me.
The only other pilots that are worth a damn to fight are Coeus (I hate your cruisers), Backslash (Your EAD will die someday), Crim (For godsake at least pretend you're not just suiciding(), Draf (especially if the bastard is in a station), Banshee, Lark (Bleep both), Tbone, Smartin (both good overall pilots), Switchblade (balsy bastard), Ramius (just because), Jim Starluck (my favorite destroyer).
And those are just semi-current players really. Im not going to go into the real legends (c4). And Coombie is overated, he just played too damn much.
Everyone else not even remotely related to this list? Yeah you're just easy. Sorry mates.

Anyone that offers names other than Banshee, Darksworde, and Ragglock are wrong, hope this helps.

I think it is interesting that people who haven't actually played the last SEVERAL VERSIONS could possibly be listed as knowing their ships so well. It isnt even the same ships in most cases. Darksword, far as I know, has never played a "true" cloak K'Luth.
That's just called starting well. How'd they end?
Early.
Cracks me up, really.

i say riley for flying that " thing" he calls a siphon, and lithium for turning a nest into being a EAD v.s a planet.

You imply there is a great diversity of "piloting skill" between Dreadnoughts and Stations.
The most I can see is tactical assessments, and that is less skill of "piloting" than it is skill of assessing whether or not pressing J will be a profitable move.
Lol skill in DarkSpace, once you get the hang of the controls it's easy. Anyone claiming otherwise is crazy.

I've not played in the last few years really, so my opinion is probably invalid. But:
EvilBob:
Kills: 3,245
Killed: 81
But I guess it depends if you mean skilled control of the craft + bonuses, rather than end results. Or, K/D ratio, for example.
I have nearly 400 planet collisions, so I guess in terms of actual piloting (sometimes PUI), I would have to rank myself very, very low. You do not want to ride shotgun with me in my Hive. It may be slow, but it can still hit planets just as well as a little scout.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. There are (at least were, some years ago), a number of extremely valid tactics for 1 on 1 and group combat. The pattern and rate of attack with certain weapons, based on energy drain and the capabilities of the enemy ship is measurable and quantifiable. It's not particularly difficult too, to assign a priority on the average speed and engagement distance that is optimal for two ships fighting, with a given load-out, one on one, so that you maximize damage over time. People can run but they can be followed. I can't imagine that element of the game has changed that much since I was last really engaged, but if it has I'd like to know.
In the past, e-jumping only saved the weak from newbs or the uninterested, since pursuit could be roughly calculated and the fight would continue. Unless planets have become way too strong to prevent kills at enemy planets for the very weak and people have just learned to point in the direction of a friendly planet and queue their jumps to prevent being killed.
Sometimes an attack can take many passes, even hit-and-retreat sort of guerrilla warfare that the K'luth use. I'd imagine all these things are about "piloting" or, really, just playing the game optimally. To suggest the knowledge of the controls is all that's here seems a bit disingenuous, unless the game-mechanics have really broke down that much in the last 4 years. There's a reason some people have the highest rankings in certain things... if all it took were to know a WASD ctrl-j keyboard config, we'd see everyone ranked about the same I would think.

I'd nominate Starface, er starfish...er..what's his face...for best dictor.
Few pilots can strike more fear in the hearts of others than ...at least in the old days...this pilot.
Now..send a dictor in and I promise you a swift and decisive response. No fear in the other players.
Props to GTN Starfish for being the best Dictor Pilot in DS
