Everytime i launche the thing i get all the way to the lobby option and when i select it the connection fails i am using XPop sys, on a pc that can run the game... I have well above the recommended settings. but the launcher fails on me to connect the update....

Either your ISP or firewall are restricting your ability to connect to GCGL. I'd also suggest making sure you downloaded the latest version of the game.
