Even if the super-nova happend long enough ago that it does reach us next year... its so far away then any radiation besides the light and particles so small and so harmless no-one would ever notice.

We would see it in the sky as if we had a full moon(or brighter?) for a week or two, then it would slowly dim down over the next few months and eventually disapear.

Even if the supernova would have any radiations that would come near us, they wouldn't tell us. You know why? Imagine telling the population around the world: Hey guys, some radiation might come up and might do some stuff to people like, next year. So don't panic, act normally and we'll see what happens.

I actually doub't anything will happen but I'll still be sitting outside the 21th December 2012 to see the world "end". Then I'll LoL and get back inside, or cry in hell Ahaha.

But really I doub't its only gonna be like the moon in the day. I Believe it will be more like a bright light in the sky that will be there for some time.. Will it be during the night too? No more needs for lights! Ahaha. Anyways back to play?

I'd do this, only it'd probably be -40 C and I'm not sitting outside in that.

Also, EVERYONE IS WRONG!
This will end the world.

On topic, it'd be cool to see something bright enough to be a second crescent moon, I wonder how much (though probably not a whole lot) that it'd brighten up the night.

And Cthulhu is my hero since he killed Justin Bieber in South park.

Earth is only 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old, and if using the big bang theory, scientists belive the known universe to be between 12 and 14 billion years old.

Not sure what you're basing that claim off. If you're basing it off the Bible. It says creation was performed in 7 days. Yet we do not know if it was 7 normal days of ours or not. It's stated some where in the Bible that one of God's "days" is a thousand years of ours. So the details are sketchy.

A bit far fetched, but hey, least the Bible has things proven to be true through science than the big bang theory that some one pulled out of their rear.

/agnostic

OT: Be quite interesting to see a second sun. Though not sure what the impact will be on us.

An inability to detect sarcasm or deadpan is fast becoming a prerequisite of this playerbase...
