Over the last month or so i've had an idea regarding the number of enhancements allowed per ship and thought I'd put it out there for discussions. I did a search but did not come up with anything, so please excuse this if there is an ongoing discussion on the topic.
As most know, the larger ships have a great advantage in terms of firepower over the smaller ships in game. This often results in fleets balanced towards stations and dreads. My thought was to increase the number of enhancements allowed on smaller ships to allow players greater customization. It might prompt more players from time to time to use these ships. Before you think that I'm talking about a radical number of enhancements, I'll put down the options I was thinking of:
Option 1:
A conservative increase in the number of enhancements
Station - remains at 8
Dreads - remains at 8
Cruisers - increased to 9
Destroyers - increased to 9
Frigates - increased to 10
Scouts - increased to 10
Transports - remain at 8
Engineers - remain at 8
Supply Ships - increased to 9
Option 2:
A slightly larger increase
Station - remains at 8
Dreads - remains at 8
Cruisers - increased to 9
Destroyers - increased to 10
Frigates - increased to 11
Scouts - increased to 12
Transports - remain at 8
Engineers - remain at 8
Supply Ships - increased to 10
Please discuss, it would be great to get some feedback.

personally i would rather see the dev staff work on blancing current game issues vrs increasing or decreasing ehnahcnements

Enhancements can be a quick fix. Balance is not, and always requires time.
To the OP, I can't see this happening. The enhancements are locked to 8 purely to stop overstacking of enhancements. The balance between them now is fine, and adjusting it would do nothing but skew that.

If I was going to change enhancements, I'd give them all downsides that are roughly even with their upsides so that you can tweak your ship's attributes rather than make them straight-up better. You know, like extra defence, less speed or more attack power, less energy or somesuch.

wapan, i like the idea. scouts with more enhs still couldnt be better than bigger ships, but would deffinetly be more usefull/used in game. in my opinion. at leat i would

would like to see increased enhs on cruisers and lower and things like enh build drones to have NO durability number........otherwise +1 on this idea.....

I have an idear
get rid of the enhanced lvl enhancement and rename too advanced, so obviously adv's will now be plus 5%
increase too 10 enhancements per ship, overall gain would be 2 percent for most enhancements or 4% if u go defense with zlars or 3% if u go full tuners with a trail
condensers adv +5% condenser extreme +4energy +2damage
rare uniques and trails will remain unneffected
just an idea, but as mentioned before up above by others, I would rather see the game move towards the balanceing thing which IMHO is pretty close, everyone's griping about something of the other factions so hey cant be too far off, its no 483 thats fo sure so thats good. The new ship layouts is pretty much all Im interested in.

I'd pay good money for a more nimble ship, even if I had to sacrifice some armour for it.

I like this idea. As long as theres still "Jack of all trades, master of none" enhancements that don't have many negatives.

Reminds me of this again, why is the build drone enh one of the most expensive, yet least useful, and has dura ontop of that?

there will be no balance in metaverse as long the fleets still exist. If we want balance fleets have to be removed. Personally id love to have equal numbers on all 3 factions.
