Let me recall the last ~5 Weeks......

Most of the time we've been outnumbered by Kluth alone. Still we won most of the times, but thats a different story.

During Peek Times, yeah, there might be a "huge UGTO Fleet", but thats just during a small amount of time (and for a short duration)

True, has been so in the past, but thats not a fact to call 24/7 for the next years.
But to call this the Reason for the current Agreement is totally non-sense.

lemme recall just yesterday
7 uggies stations orbiting a depot planet... an invincible force even there was 10+ luth and sum icc on??
it true that we outnumbered u guys sumtimes but that rarely happen now and we also kill icc when it actually happen
(backstabbing is good u know )

It won't happen in anything like this form, but to me the ideal alliance system would be by fleet, not faction.

When two fleets of opposing factions want to work together, their respective leaders hit a toggle and suddenly thier no longer red to eachother. Friendly fire against an allied group would count against your prestige just like ff to a faction member. This way you don't have to worry about new/uninformed/non-caring players because they can still be killed by the allied faction. A special chat channel for 'allied forces' would prevent loads of red talk. Allied forces would be able to repair eachother, making them worthwhile.

Whoever said alliances don't have a place in a wargame...thats what war is all about. Alliances create bigger battles; betrayals create more vicious ones. Do I see the need for alliances right now? No not really, but the truth is, and the naysayers themselves said this, they have happened before and will happen again. And they always fail for the same, easily fixed reasons. Why not add another aspect to DS? It can literally only benifit us because its nothing that isn't happening already.

Just my two cents...

While cease fires are not covered by the RoC, I ask that players make and agree to them in good faith. While not every one is bound by a cease fire/alliance, I discourage spontaneously breaking one without prior warning.

That definitely looks like a good idea there.

"If it's red it's dead" overrules all. And isn't there something in the RoC about taking action against a teammate who follows the "if it's red it's dead" rule, including telling the allied faction (who are always enemies no matter what) where said person is?

Cease fires may not technically be alliances, but they're close enough that all rules regarding alliances should apply.

I hereby request that "If it's red it's dead" be officially added to the RoC as it's own rule that trumps all others in the case of alliances, cease fires or whatnot. It has to be made plain for all to see (and cite) that nobody can be forced by his/her teammates to honor an alliance or cease fire he never agreed to, whether it's direct or indirect force, and even if he did agree he can break it at any time for any reason because "If it's red it's dead" applies.

In my Honest Opinion (Which usually is totally ignored) there is not point of Cease Fires between factions, only favortisim. In my experience playing K'luth they usually just attacked the stronger side to "Balance" the flow of the war. But I doubt it is still like this. And to be truthfully honest, it is a fools idea to do a Cease Fire with K'luth, it will only come back and Bite you in the Bum some time later on in the day.

Whenever im playing, were always attackin that faction thats strongest. What would be the point else?

And also thats what fun, to watch the QQ later because we sided with someone else.

+1.

We always go after the stronger faction.
What's the point for siding with the stronger faction against a weaker one?

If we're attacking the weaker faction, then we're definitely not working with the stronger faction either. Free for all.
