Did you know they are able to kill windows?

no kidding. I killed my windows with gfx drivers.

ati vpu recover forced a reboot while the drivers were installing and BAM; windows doesn't boot anymore >.<

I'm currently having my harddrive plugged into my mom's pc as a slave and am formatting it right now.
yay for partitioned harddrives; I only needed to save my bookmarks and before formatting :/

go ahead and laugh; I don't mind

You shouldn't need to reformat it if you've got it as a slave, just reinstall the drivers again and it should be ok.

Windows dies just from using it....It's really a shame that such a poorly designed OS is so widely used.

Thanks to Bill Gates for being a better cutthroat businessman than coder.

Although you may think the drivers at fault, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a piece of software that interfered with the installation.

UPDATE:

after finding out the harddrive wasn't the problem, I tried to find the source among the other system components.

Behold:

The gfx drivers FRIED THE MAINBOARD o.O

Well I'm heading to the guy from whom I got the comp tomorrow anyways, he should have some spare mainboards :/

A video card driver cannot fry a motherboard. It's technically impossible.

Well it's a windows based computer. Windows can break EVERYTHING.

but really; the mainboard doesn't work properly anymore since my comp rebooted while the gfx drivers' installation was in progress :/
I can't even access the BIOS anymore

Get your BIOS chip flashed, Also It doesn't seem like it was just the Graphics card driver, Windows will default to a Backup driver upon crashing of a driver, Or curruption of one, I.E when you are playing a really heavy game and the game freezes it will sometimes crash the driver, so windows tell's you to reboot and it will resume functionality. Like i said get your BIOS flashed and updated to the newest Version for that model computer.
But, upon corruption of one, One must go into Safemode Accesed by spamming the F8 Key(for my computer at least) and Choose safe mode from a drop down list. This will only load important device drivers and Important system services and allow you to isntall a Driver(it is possible to do in normal mode) but it has bery bad color, and a HUGE resolution and bad colors

VPU recover normally should default to a backup driver in such a situation and just resume working, but it just forced a reboot.

safe mode doesn't boot either.

I can't even boot from the windows xp installation disc

mainboard = motherboard

two words for the same device

False. A mainboard is a special kind of motherboard. No personal computer has a mainboard in it.
