But that's when you scrap 'em and lose construction pres.

I agree. Scraping makes you lose construction pres, and depots dont help shields. But would the depots be useful to K'luth armour?

depots allmost help icc more then k'luth if they manage their shields well.
and having k'luth around a depot is hell.
Im allso refering to when tehere are only 2-3 peeople on in the face of a big enemy.
Any who cares about scrap pres, prestige is easy to get

He proves the inability to have any relevance yet again.
1. Depots only help when people are stupid enough to attack you there.
2. Depots are changing (and the peasants rejoiced!)
3. If you are dumb enough to attack an enemy sitting in his strength, you deserve to lose. My only regret is you feed my enemy pres he didn't have to earn.
So far this week's most useless thread. And its only Monday.
yay!

well... when a UGTO or Lobster station camps on a depot planet they will not move and when it's the only chance to get a fight with another player it tends to act like a magnet,
hopefully this'll create a more fluid environment now that a station can't sit there and pull a gandalf on a fleet

Used to be one of my favorite things to do befor depot planets.
Kudos to Kluth for supplying the occasional supply base to find.

That's an age old tactic. Just send your AI supp/scouts along the last suspected path you saw an enemy escape, or appear from, or happen to detect. You don't even have to do the scouting yourself.
And then watch F2 for something to pop up.

As SpaceGK said. Not as useful to Kluth as it is to Uggies. Kluth will scrap a dep planet too, or at least destroy its tech to force the enemy to rebuild it from scratch.
A single Hive sitting at a 22 dep planet will not be able to tank it like a Shroom, against a fleet. It's just a playstyle. Kluth rely more on deep space plats.

Kenny's right about the depots. They arn't as effective for other factions as they are for UGTO, so we'll normally leave them be.
As far as the depot nerf goes, it's not the super OP of hugging a depot planet while others waste they're time trying to kill you that I'm worried about loosing (although that is soooo fun(ny)). I haven't tried it out in beta yet, but how long is it going to take for us to fix, for example, our 2 stations, and 2-3 dreads that we just had blown up in an ICC/K'Luth attack. The ability for us to fix and get back into battle will be greatly reduced, and not just for UGTO but for everyone else too since as you all know hull takes a long time to repair with just a couple repair drones.
Fewer battles anyone?
|
|
whats this means is now ugto will have to play smarter no more thowing ships in to the sluaghter over and over again.

Maybe. Maybe not.
I might wanna camp Uggie SYs now to kill slowly repping 5%ers more
often. Also there will be lotsa Kluth AI being used as scouts to locate yr plat farms, for the same reasons.

Dear UGTO,
Would you please remove all your weapons, armor, propulsion, and electronic modules so that we may courageously destroy you with twelve dreads versus one of your ships? Thank you!
Love,
K'Luth <3
