I have a suggestion to make regarding the enhancements.

I noticed that almost nobody uses Minor, Limited and Standard enhancements, not even when picked up from a destroyed vessel. Certainly no one ever bought Minor and Limited enhancements and very seldom, Standard.

The reason is that players don’t think it’s worth the credits to put on enhancements that only provides you with a 1% to 3% increase in, lets say, damage given.

My suggestion is to make the enhancements from Minor up to Advanced have an output of 6%, but with a durability limit:

Minor = 6% output = durability of 1

Limited = 6% output = durability of 3

Standard = 6% = 5

Improved = 6% = 10

Enhanced =6% = 15

Advanced = 6% = 20

For example: you have eight Minor Weapon Multiplexers on your ship. They give you a damage increase of 48%, but they all have a durability of one time, that is, when you die, they disappear. When using Limited, you can die three times before they will work out and so forth.

In this way, Minor will mean an enhancement of a low durability, not an enhancement of low increase.

That way, I think, players will be more willing to buy low durability enhancements to test out the different special enhancements before deciding on buying the longer lasting ones to put on their ships.

I would have bought Minor, Limited and/or Standard enhancements to put on my ship before, if they had given me the same increase as Enhanced and Advanced.

It seems you don't understand the post quite correctly. You'd still get better enhancements by paying more because you'd have increased durabilty.

It might sounds nice in theory, but almost nobody would need to buy enh because you can farm AI and get massive amounts of minors-limiteds to use. An hour or so of killing AI in the beginner area will practically fill your garage with various low end enh.

Bingo. This is the reason.
No one would buy creds.

This is true.

Droppings from AI should be limited or completely removed, then.

When AI don't drop Minors or Limited or any other enhancements in such profusion as they do now, people will start buying the stuff they want.

By the way, too many players go Elite hunting instead of supporting the game by buying enhancements. I realise, offcourse, that there are some players who cant buy credits, nevertheless, the game need all the support it can get.

you were able to read that mass of unpunctuated words?

What I see is that it would give everyone the 6%, and only limit the duras. I don't like it. I think that it works ok now. I don't see issues with the enhancements, other than some stacking shouldn't be allowed on certain enhancements. That's just my opinion, but that is the only thing I would like to see changed on them atm.

I'd really like to see more unique enhancements, and those being ones that drop mostly from players.

But then I'm a big fan of telling Darkspace to shut up and take my money. The more interesting enhancements there are, chances are, some of us will shell out for them. Me being one of them.

Stupid sexy enhancements.

Maybe a "design an enhancement" contest, like with designing an elite. Some guidelines would obviously be needed but it should be interesting to see what people come up with.

Yeah. Some changes to the stacking system would make things more exciting

What I hope would be
- All ships get 12 enh slots instead of 8, or we can scale it. (Dreads & Stations get 12, Cruisers get 10, Dessies and below stay at 8 )
- Max stack effect of 4 enh

This will make things more interesting. U would be able to create a ship with 3 types of enh, but each limited to only 24% max. Still not OP, but it opens up a world of possibilities.

eh. Dread with 4 x Weap multis, 4 x Def Upg, 4 x Beam Muktis
or Cruiser with 4 x Weap Multis, 4 x speed upgrades, 4 x ammo racks

Also, we need the enh space in the garage to be doubled.

It might encourage players to buy more enh.
