currently the command-ships (dread & station) doesn't have any real purpose

so this is my idea:
ai present on the current server try to group with those ships, unless they have other, more important things, to do (eg defending trannies under fire / supping)

when they receive a distress, they'll respond to it but head back to the command-ship when they're done

if possible, each ship should have a value (eg scout=1 frig=2 ) and command-ships have a limit, how many auto-followers they could have and stations should have a higher limit
any additional ships on the server act the same way they ready do

when multiple command-ships are present, the ai make multiple groups
eg
dread1 get 2 scouts 1 frig and 1 dessie ( 2x1+ 1x2 +1x3=7 commando-points)
dread2 get 1 scout 1 frig and 1 cruiser (1x1+ 1x2 +1x4=7 commando-points)

those ships are still normal ai, so you can give em orders, they just "love" the command-ship

another idea to this: command-dreads get more "small" ships as followers and the bigger ones (cruiser&dreads) prefer stations

sounds good;

but I heavily disagree about that distress calls.

when a group of ships is ordered to follow a command ship, they have to follow it PERIOD


no breaking out of formation just cause a tranny 200000 gu away is under attack.

You must not have seen the UGTO Command Dreadnought. It pretty much screams "I am an awesome combat boat and you guys should use me more". It can go head-to-head with a Krill and emerge victorious. Problem?

this way we don't have to increase the ai-cap
we still have the same amount of ship flying around, but they are not scattered all across the map, but are closer together

and @Gesellschaft:
the ugto one might be a good gunboat but it still have no command-function

they will scatter around if they do it like it is now and follow every AI distress call
