In game ranks would need to be small enough to not interfere with the HUD but large enough to differentiate 14 ranks.
I know drafell asked myself to draw some up, but none of them were good enough (mainly because I suck at drawing) because they couldn't really fit the criteria of "noticable, distinct and not above 24x14 pixels"
or something like that.
edit: this was some time ago, so I don't know if the whole "rank picture" thing was discarded or not.
