i noticed a lot that when i PD enemy missles with any ship, the lasers wont hit the missles long enough for the missles to b destroyed. That means PD is useless. Only assault beams can shoot a missle long enough for to get destroyed before impact.

I'd like to see a change where a missle gets shot when it gets pd-ed by standard lasers, maybe by lowering missle hp

had this problem as icc and luth, havent tested as ugto yet...I see the missles, beams start firing when the missles are at 200 gu range, but as said, they wont get destroyed, i just wasted my precious energy.

Missiles don't have HP. The moment they get touched by a beam, they explode.

The developers actually experimented once with giving fighters and missiles armour and hull, and it didn't work because the game code just says "destroy if hit by beam" rather than inflicting damage.

It's possible that someone's firing several missiles at once at you, and they're so close together that they look like they're a single missile. Or you're massively lagging or desyncing or something.

i believe there is splash damage for some missles that you have to watch out for. that might be the problem too.

I don't really have much of a problem with missles. Running 4x pulse beams on my HC. Once in a while a stray one will make it through, or a cloaked one if I don't have ECCM on.

well i have problem to pd missles. as it ssems, about half of em still hit no matter what missles. if its my problem ok, ill fix it here was just probing to see what response is.. i got 20/4 Mbit connection 10 ms ping, quadcore, 2Gb video card, so that aint it

least your able to even PD them. i barely get the rendered untill they get withen 100 Gus and you have no chance then

used to have the no render problem.. just seemed to fix itself.

I still have a very hard time seeing shroud missiles even under heavy eccm.

also when i cannot see them, they head strait for me even when im doing evasive actions. Almost a 100% chance shrouds will hit me no matter what ship im in.. kinda annoying. and the reason you dont see me much in mv

probably my end though, ive a 1.5mb/s net connection.

I think the issue may be that the splash damage range is greater then the PD range. So, even if you PD the missles, you take at least some of the damage.
