You should make it look like a ship not a fighter, meaning no cockpit in the front and maybe a bridge and a few windows to show it is a ship not a really large fighter like current scount save ugto scout.

Haha. Technically I didn't cheat. The model is mine. I didn't take it from another game. It was a game project that someone started but couldn't see through.

Slight redesign and rescale.

The previous Corvette was about 70 meters long. I've scaled it to ICC specs of about 95m. I've also added a little soldier model there that I took from another source. He stands at about 1.85m or 6 feet tall. So you have an idea how large a DS scout is.

The twin booster packs are now flush with the body. I've remounted them to the rear equipment pack which also mounts the underslung engine. So it now forms a Y-shaped profile when looked at head on or from the rear.

Top, Side, Front view (with soldied model for size reference)

Others

And a close up of the little dude next to the cockpit/bridge section.

Corvettes are about the size of large airliners/airlifters so I think a roughly aerodynamic layout is a logical choice.

This is definitely one of your better designs.

The new design looks even better but I still think the underslung engine looks out of place on a Corvette, it would just be odd to have 3 engines on the model but only 2 engine gadgets and 2 trails with the 3rd engine just kinda sitting there.

It's definitely a good model in it's own right but it doesn't really fit as a Corvette like that.

Scouts only have 1 engine gadget, Talien, and we could easily add another engine trail to fit the model. Besides, there are already plenty of ships with more engine trails than engine gadgets.

So they do. I was looking at a Frigate while talking about Scouts, if it's that easy to have it display another trail, cool.

Adding engine trails is a piece of cake. It's done the same way we add gadgets to ship layouts. I could slap as many as I wanted onto ships, although generally we try to keep their numbers down--they're expensive to render in terms of graphics. But 3 trails is pretty much the average for human ships.

Interesting Orion class superdread in your siggy.
What game is that for?

Anyway, will be texturing this ship soon, together with that other UGTO dread (already in process..... long, slow, process....)

If you have it to a state where you want to see if we cant try importing the model, you can try emailing it to me at tael@palestar.com

Unless its to big to email, then we can find another way.

doubt it.

Light of Auroa made several ship designs well praised by the dev team. Eveything from scout, to station, he renovated, for ICC and UGTO. And for his hard work was awarded position on the dev team.

Though none of his work has made it in game yet.... And i believe he is no longer here as well.
