FYI, we'll probably move defence mode over to the out of combat timer. It was always intended to speed out of combat regen up (and those of you using it in combat, it's not intended for that, so there's no point arguing the point).

It'd remove the power cost and just improve the regen. There may be a possibility of having the timer lowered too.

Pantheon, Nearly all my tests that showed ICC close to balanced to UGTO used defense mode in combat.

All tests done without defense mode in combat ended in ICC death with ugto having most of their hull still.

Just consider it,

Tested were interceptor/assault frigate, Battle/Heavy Cruiser. Battle/Combat dread, and Eliete Assault/Assault dread.

This, was also befor you lowered ugto armor HP the first time, and not counting your planned lowering of ugto armor hp again.

Looking forward to helping test this when it comes out.
Ill keep my eye on the dev log

There have been 3 nerfs (inc the one in beta) to UGTO armor since then. I'm not too worried about it.

yea... i realized how long ago that was about half way through posting it.

Ive always been in support of defense mode not being used in combat so im all for this idea

expecialy if you can get defense mode mapped somewhere else. 3 shield modes gets in the way of my combat style. (tricking you into thinking your winning )

this is one thing ill definitely miss, no more shield tanking anymore, especially with stations. Are reactive shields gonna be changed at all? only reason i use them at this point is their high regen that comes along with them in defense mode. I'm not sure they will be usefull except on the BC after this. Just my observations, I'm always willing to adapt and overcome
