If a player loses connection, such as from lagging out, or logging off, the ship should be taken over by an AI that immediately orders the ship to jump clear of the system.

It is extremely depressing to see a player lose their connection over and over, and get effortlessly killed and lose massive prestige as they drift off in a straight line.



If your captain has a heart attack, seizure, or spontaniously combusts while at the controls on the bridge, do you:
A. Run around in a panic as an EAD pummels you up the ass.
or
B. Push their inanimate and/or smoldering corpse out of the way and get the ship and its crew the hell out of there.

You assume it's easy to tell when a player has disconnected, timed-out, has dropped a packet, or simply has very high latency.

There's a reason no games do this.
