Its not a big deal, you can use other planets to spawn ships if a longhead just glassed a single one.
The Longhead always attacks planets with shipyards and if yo see it heading to a planet you may try to stop it, if not the planets population will recover by itself anyway, worse thing that can happen is that the glassed planet revolts.
Its just a random event and sometimes can be funny if a crucial planet is hit while a battle is going on.^^

Take out the lionheads then.

You only need to hull them to abt 60 or so and they'll turn tail and run. Set your Elites on them and join in the fun fun fun!

I wouldn't care about fighting them, but having no warning about your planat coming under attack until they have already taken out everything is why i made this thread.

Fighting AI is part of the game but... AI who you would have to watch 24/7 is a bit of a strech. Espesially since there are times when "no one" is online for a paticular faciton & can counter them.

Longheads ... or Lion Head, if you prefer... usually emerge from a gate and slow boat it to their target planet. If you have AI jumping all about, you might get a glimpse of them on F2 as your ships are moving about. The LH which do jump usually go about attacking players or AIs. That's my observation anyway. I could be wrong.

Use your AI ships or Elites to intercept that LH; let them get some damage in first, before you join in. From what I observed, they usually jump out after being hulled halfway through.

I've logged in as ICC to discover MI had nuked all of our SYs in sag. The K'luth chose this exact moment to invade as well, so it was more or less impossible to defend against them.

It is not fun, nor funny. Considering how frustrating it was for me, I can't imagine the frustration newbies must feel to log in and discover their faction has lost all of its vital infrastructure and they cant spawn anywhere.

It was a really poor design decision and I think it should be taken out.

If they didn't attack shipyard planets, ever, it might be okay; more construction points for everyone and less of a hassle to players. Until then, it detracts from the game more than anything.

I know there easy to kill "with help" but no one can track these things 24/7 theres barly 2 players on any given time. (When i play at least)

Calling in AI who might be another system away would have to make 2 jumps most of the time, if not more, and unless you knew where this thing was headed 5 min in adv, your AI won't help you.

Don't get me wrong, its cool it blows up a planat, but there is "no" player base to cover or deal with this elite unit. And its unfair to the few players who play this game and there all alone in there to have to have/watch there docks be oblierated. (Not to mention those who cannont control there Dread A.I.)

Either give more AI (which they wont)
Get a bigger player base (never going to happen)
Or Nerft these eilte ship (Hit 1 dock ever 4 hours or something)

Thank you for considering how new players feel. The whole reason i made this thread was to create the awearness that this potentially kills the fun for new players

Something some of these vet players who could solo these ships for all i care seem to forget or dont care about.

Only thing I'd suggest is have them hit a RANDOM planet, and not just only SY.

i think there should be a weekly MI invasion.

I think MI kick ass and should continue to do so.

MI taking out random planets...i donno.look at it this way: an MI crawls to its target sy. a longhead killin a sy took an hour at least to get there, thats a long time to not kill stuff in kaus. If its stops hitting planets, tehir presense is to persistent.

if it starting to hit all planets not just random sy..it can feel useless. I wont be bothered as much if some random mining planet gets wasted. not very smart, MI like, to waste so much effort in wasting a not frequently used planet.

I like MI hitting random sy planets. even the strongest faction will have to recap its planets once in a while.

People complain about MI being weak and boring.

So they were made strong and awesome and extremely dangerous.

People complain about MI being too strong and OP.

For one of the few times I agree with Jack, you just can't make people happy.

before their damage-buff those MIs were a joke
if you go into their server, you'll find out, that they are still dumb as &?$~%&!#

and if you build planets correctly they'll barely do any damage (ai target always the center while bombing)

since they got their anti-planet weapon, i only saw a longhead attacking a planet.... once

MI are fine as they are now. Don't change them just because a few players want more easy pres kills.

I dont want easy pres kills but I also dont want a ship capable of destroying a vital planet with a one shot super torpedo.
