I'd go with names of current and historical ships, mostly taken from the US, British, French, German and Soviet/Russian navy. Names of battles, historical events and things. Maybe add in DS related places and battles just for that Scifi flavor.
Eg.
ICS Exathra
ICS Cottus,
ICS Battle of Sirius
ICS Liberation of Sol
UWS Demaret,
UWS Spear of Destiny,
UWS Cauldron Born
UWS Arizona

I agree with Walrus of Apathy on the removal of "U.W.S Guppy"... the guppy is a legendary ship...
Edit: more ideas.. the Royal Navy warships had some great names

Some of these ship names have been added to the list, thanks to those who supplied them.
However, I need some piratey sounding names now! I have a small list that's being used however i'm sure you guys could come up with some good ones. I don't want to use any of those random generators as they aren't too good.
