This idea has been discussed before, i think the best way i've heard of is each wing would have "HP" that would relate to how many fighters are in the wing, as pd takes down "HP" it would reduce the number of fighters in a wing. A pulse wave would just kill alot at once. |

Brilliant.
I hope this idea will be implemented in the next beta. It'll improve game experience a lot. In my case, whose computer is old & weak, this improvement is utmost in enjoying game.

i like what i see.
definetly there could be 4 fighters per unit aka squad = needs 4 pd hits to be whacked out of the sky. CIC screen...fighter controol long live the fighters!!!! little puny red dots will hurt!
but then seriously, it wont be touched anytime soon.. maybe we're gonna have it for christmas. looking forward to it, it is a great idea!

fighter wings sound cool. but its sure will take time or even wont happen
having figherts carrying more weapons sounds good and i think wont be too hard to implement. right?

i say leave it like it is. they stay toghter as long as there lauched and are of the same class so they can be wings of 4 6 5 and 8

The bigger a ship is, the more damage it takes per hit, with stations taking above average damage.
Ever wonder why scouts don't die to anything but beam alphas from assault ships? It's because they have damage reduction due to their small size.

whats ur source of info?
small ships can avoid everything except beams, but there is no damage reduction involved.
only planetary fire involves damage reduction on basis of ship size.

I dug SO DEEP into the forums that my eyes hurt. About 2 hours going back 3 years, lol.
Honestly can't find ANY mention of what I was told about bigger hull sizes taking more damage. Sorry.
I might have misunderstood someone explaining weapon leveling, and thought it applied to hull damage too. But I coulda SWORN I read that... It's bugging the heck out of me, I'll probably keep looking.
I did however see several mentions over the course of those years of scouts taking semi-random damage. Apparently beams hit BEHIND the scout, wierd desync ensues, and they take next to no damage. Add in that if a scout leaves effective range of beams they cease doing damage (did not know this) .
Anyways, what I did learn is: Larky is friggen awesome at all times. Period.
Old Luth players (Besides Azreal and Kenny, in general) were arrogant and wrong 99% of the time. K'luth got the nerf bat hard (2 ahr on dreads, anyone?) , so PB all quit. Wonder who got the last laugh ?

PB didn't quit. Most were already inactive by 1.5. The rest are on an extended break (playing stuff like WoT, BF3, SWTOR) until this game has major changes or new features.
A few still come back ingame from time to time, myself included.
