Question -

When the ship is named, is there an extra step to confirm the name?

It would be extremely annoying wasting a re-name just because you spelt it wrong.

Just got done trying this out in beta. As long as it comes with instructions it should be fine, it's very easy to forget the _ and try to use a space, which results in whatever was after the space being ignored. You may also want to include the warning about garage deletion in the item description just so you can say "You were warned but chose to ignore it" when the inevitable happens and someone gives one of their ships a vulgar name.

I realize the price isn't set in stone but 2500 credits seems a bit much, that's more than most enh that actually give a bonus. If it was me I'd set it around 1k, that seems more than fair for what is essentially a vanity item.

each namechanger enhancement gives you two attempts to name your ship. the second attempt is there incase you mess up on your first attempt.

agreed about lowering the enh's cost. 1-1.5k credits would be better

namechanging 101

1) buy enhancement
2) launch ship with the enh
3) use enh. it is consumable (and edible)
4) enh gives you two attempts to name your ship
5) open chat bar, type /shipname (insert your desired name here within "" or with __ .
6) did you make a mistake? repeat step 5 again to name ship properly

To clarify, this is not a free-to-use command. It requires an enhancement to be purchased and used on the ship (it doesn't take up a slot). This gives your ship two name change charges that you may use when you want.

Names obviously have to follow the RoC, any accounts with ships with names found not following it will have their entire garage deleted (all enhancements and ships), as there is no way for us to edit ships that are stored. This is a risk those of you take who want to break the rules - so if you want to lose all your modded ships and enhancements, feel free to break the rules. Otherwise, don't do it.

And that's about it, I think... The price of the enhancement is yet to be announced, but it's set to 2500 in beta right now.

Shall there be any free consumable enhancement to delete ship's name and reverse to original name in case out of credit and receive a warning about ship name?

You have two name changes per ship - don't be a spanner with them and you''ll be fine .

First, there is no instruction to change ship name in game.

Second, there is no clue in game to check the remaining time to change name.

Third, oh no, I have my ship name as a popular censor word but I have spent all of my credit... of course it in beta. Ya I can rename it at any time in beta but in release server that is ...

Forth, I have to type "" or _ so that there is blank inside name. For anyone who uses it for the first time and can't figure out how to add blank in name, seems like 1250 credit is gone for a mistake.

Therefore I suggest:
  • Change ship name enhancement should cost no more than 1000 credit and allow name changed one time only.
  • When use Change ship name, a dialog box appear and ask Type a new name for your current ship. When the user postpones, the enhancement is not used.
  • After the user types the new name, the dialog box continues to ask New ship name is new-name-in-bold. Confirm?
  • Free Original ship name enhancement.

All of that is infinity more work to do, so won't be happening. If you type /shipname on its own, as with all commands, it details how to use it. I can, however, make it tell you this on enhancement use.
