The only thing shared prestige loss encourages is:
"Ok, I'll leave the group right before I die or scrap any buildings."

and

"Hey, look at that newb captain, let's invite them to our group, self destruct our stations, and scrap an entire tier 3 planet to send them 2 weeks deep into negative prestige! they'll be sure to quit after not gaining a single bit of prestige after 20 hours of game play!"

Well the second one is a obvious report.

LOL. That's a player problem, not a game mechanics problem.

I hate your name. Let's group up, and I'll SD so many stations on top of you that I'll send you all the way back to Midshipman... (and myself to GA)

The 2nd one did happen to me, but at the time I was a noob, and had no idea that a group was anything but good.

Imagine my surprise when some a-hole began scrapping cortex nexuses, and a bunch of stations self destructed on top of attacking dreadnoughts, and got me demoted like 5 times in a row -_-

i really wish i knew who did that, or I would have reported.

LOL. Wait... the stations SD'ed on top of enemy dreadnoughts? That's like a legal tactic. Kamikaze.

You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

your first example was of mallice. Lets get noob to join so we can demote him.

The other was of compassion. Im going to leave the group to soften the blow on the noobs account.

Your last example was of desperation. Im going to stop the enemy no matter what.

Its up to you to decide who to group with. I say pick your groups better.

As for me, my stats are my own. I grouped once and screwed up my whole profile with all those decimals.

The only thng i group with now is indictors and beacon boats.

"Oh yay a group! what's that? Oh I'll just hit yes, it sounds beneficial!"
Fluttershy has been demoted to Commander
Fluttershy has been demoted to Lieutenant Commander
Fluttershy has been demoted to 1st Lieutenant
Fluttershy has been demoted to 2nd Lieutenant
Fluttershy has been demoted to Ensign
Fluttershy has been demoted to Midshipman
"WHAT?!?!"

think of it this way - you were the first player in ds to be flying a destroyer while at the rank of midshipman. (were you in a dessy at that time?)

you should search for the threads about grouping, the discussions that we had over loss and gains, etc etc...very infirmative

Looks like it's time to shamelessly promote my old idea about grouping again...

Us in K'luth or at least AOD do not have this problem for we use teamwork to win and we trust each other to not SD without leaving the group 1st. So all in all only group with people you trust and you won't have this problem.

I'm more bothered by the fact your "deaths" are shared, and multiplied by x1.1.

So whenever I group, I accrue deaths without even dying myself, and the K:D ratio becomes even more of a worthless thing than it was before.

if u ask people to group, and they refuse, and then you spam them untill htey allow you to join...is it their fault you lose prestige if you die?

i had someone spam me for group once, even after explaining i was not going to gain much at the time. after dying the person cursed at me as if its my fault i grouped to show him/her what i ment

if you're new, then ok you're new. How u know about grouping? why keep asking ppl to join your party? even after clicking no 4x?

this is from a couple of experiences couple of weeks ago, not from experiences with fluttershy..but it shows how both sides of the story feel. if im spammmed by new ppl, how is it with others? they must get annoyed at some time and just agree to the group proposal.

ask once, thats it. know what the plan is and know the consequences. if someone in a stationand u are commander...why group? u can be sure to lose press unless you leave in time..or the station, even though you spammed to join. if someone says no, or clicked no, DONT ASK AGAIN!!

the way you desribe your situation feels fittiing with spamming/annoying. if thats not what u did then the critisism dont apply to you but to others currently on and maybe in the future. if all u did was propose a group ONCE and they immediatly agreed, then within 3 min self d on someone with a stat i can understand, any other situation, responsibility is mainly yours

That feeling when your group members don't bother logging for a time, just to ride off the prestige you gain. Had that happen when I first joined. Before they came out with the current scenario's, was in Orion, as part of a group for a defense line. Once the fight was over, the group dissolved so to avoid people losing prestige over someone's blunder later on.

I've found, too, that some people don't generally do well with certain ships. Some group members will utterly muck up a planet and say they don't know what they're doing, all the while I'm trying to build a planet up (and rebuild in this case). It hurts me and them when I have to go and fix their mess.

For the record, I'm not the best at this game, and could definitely do with more practice on support ships such as the engineers and transports. Just using them, really.

Trannies are pretty basic, though.

Meh thats why I dont group. When I group I lose more then I gain. Thus I do not group.
