Pods disappear |

To elaborate further, every time the pod is simulated in the game world, it checks to make sure if its target is "valid". A valid target must be detectable by the pod's faction, so once you lose detection on your target (in this case, a structure) the pods self destruct.

In Darkspace, ground position = structure. That's the problem!

Actually I forgot pods functioned just like missle. Had I remembered, I wouldn't have started this topic.

No, the ground hex is the actual hexes where structures and infantry go on. If you select a planet and get close enough, you'll notice the hexes on the planet. It's more visible in F3 (Planetary) mode as well.
