Been reworking some of the old stuff prior to the massive HDD crash I had. I managed to find some WIP stuff and decided to carry on from there. Also, found some LoA stuff that he shared with me before going on hiatus, and so I did some mesh corrections and texture work on them.

So here they are in a futuristic version of Jane's Fighting ships.

(Just some pics now of course, and some short commentaries from me on what was going through my little mind when I was designing/building 'em. But if any one of you poets, writers and clowns can come up with some flavor text, it'll be great!)

UGTO:

Scout/Corvette - **(Original design by LoA)

LoA's design. One of two UGTO models he shared with me (the other being the Executor Dread). All I changed was the engine nacelles slightly to enlarge the exhaust port.... and even then it still seems a little small. Textured to scale as best I can to reflect this airliner-sized ship.

Cruiser - Command/Aura/Interdictor Type

This is my impression of the new Command/Aura cruiser. It was derived from LOA's beautiful Executor Dread, identifying it as part of the family of UGTO command ships.

This cruiser has a huge gravity well generator that takes up most of its hull space, and consequently... room for weapons. Twin engine nacelles are located on each side of the main hull, as there isn't much room there for a third engine.

UGTO Standard Type Dreadnought rebuild

This is the current UGTO dread rebuilt and optimized with new textures.

ST-2 Dreadnought

This is a second iteration of one of my first designs. I've taken the forward hull (or head) of the standard UGTO dread and grafted it to the earlier design. This makes it an evolution of the ST class dread. Could be useful for one or more of those T1/T2 dreads.

Dreadnought (Command type) - Executor **(Original design by LoA)

Another one of LoA's design. I was so in love with this shape that I emailed him for a copy, for which he so kindly obliged. I took some time to clean out the mesh and also remained faithful to his original color scheme. Definitely a candidate for a Command dreadnought.

Dreadnought (Battle/Assault/Carrier type), Harbinger *** Original Design by LoA

This is the Harbinger, the second of LoA'a UGTO dreads. Design-wise I think it is from the same lineage as the Executor. But it has a more aggressive look. Again, I stayed as faithful as I could to his original design, but had to add an additional pair of engines as it originally only had a single exhaust port that looked too dinky to drive a ship of this size.

The ship is probably less massive than the Executor as the main hull seems to end about 3/4 of the way and the rest of the length made up of the armored wings or fins.

Here's the Agincourt Supercarrier rebuild

ICC:

Proposed ICC Corvette - Stealth/Sensor type

I wanted to deviate away from the typical square/blocky ICC design to give this airliner sized spacecraft a sleeker and more angular design. Something more stealthy looking. Thinking along the lines of an SR-71 or B-1B.

M240 series
ICC Cruiser - Aura/Interdictor/Command Type

A derivative of the Missile Cruiser hull to accommodate the gravity well device. Together with pontoons/outriggers taken from the regular cruisers, this is my concept of ICC moving forward with their cruiser designs.

While many of their vessels may be retrofitted civilian vessels, there will come a time where the Confederation will have to design purpose built warships from the ground up. And those warships will look very different from civilian ships.

ICC Missile Cruiser

This is basically the Interdictor with the central gravity well orb removed and replaced by a missile silo/launcher. The redesigned M240 could be considered a "modular" cruiser that can fill several roles simply by changing that central section; though certain more specialized roles may not be suitable for its design.

M300 series
Command Carrier

Missile Dread

Over here, I've created the M300 Missile variant. The ship loses the maw-like forward fighter launch bay, and gains a slight hump back profile which contains the missile silos.

M400 series
ICC Combat Dread

ICC Siege Dread

A variant of the M400 hull with added pods for bombs/PSMs/PCMs.

M-410 series
ICC Assault Dread

This is the redesigned ICC AD. The M410 is a modified and reinforced version of the venerable M400 dread. The main hull is larger, thicker and more heavily armored.

Kluth:

Kluth Cruiser (Wyvern)

Inspired by a dragon and a hornet, I wanted to design something aggressive and fast looking.

K'Luth Mantis rebuild

Kluth Dreadnought - Kraken

The Kraken/Reaper returns. This ship was based loosely off the existing Mantis hull with some inspiration from the Vorlons of B5. The four forward tentacles contrasts with the tri-tail arrangement.

Kluth Assault Dread - (Pincer)

This arachnid monster was inspired by both the B5 Shadows and the Star Trek reboot's Narada. That cyclopean eye is a tribute to the Marauder mech from Battletech. I wanted to design something that would scare the bejesus out of anyone should it decloak next to them. This was it.

Carrier looks rather neat, but screenshots are so small.

Maybe just me, but I think that Wyvern model would make a better Destroyer than Cruiser.

A new ICC Scout would be great. I can't wait to see this.

Dang. Photobucket must be borked. Ok gimme some time to resize the originals and I'll put them up again.

Edit: OK I fixed the link. Seems like the GCQL webpage broke the part of the link URL -- "view¤t" to "view¤t". dunno why.... Had to manually fix it
