Star Wars features an alien race who use organic ships and fear/hate technology. They are refugees from the original home which they were driven from by a race of machines.
Much like in the scenario servers, they capture the key planets of the resident factions, forcing them to set aside their differences and unite before driving them off their worlds.

Oh yes. All the K'luth frigates (except the Instars) remind me of Klingon BOP(Bird of prey)
