Not possible to buy prestige, you have to earn it like everyone else.
Also Credits can be given out as prizes for events and competitions, but otherwise you have to subscribe or buy them like everyone else.

I know you mean handing money over for prestige in your profile. But the phrase reminds me of a philosophical use and explanation of language. Bear with me.
Just look at the phrase. Buy prestige = prestige that you get from buying things. so that the more money you spend on comfy captain chairs - for your dreadnought - the more "buy prestige" you get. Like "Kill prestige" and so on and so forth.
In my life, when I spend money, I find I have a better reputation.

Funnily enough it wasn't that long ago where the only way to get a commanding rank in the army was to buy it. (although not much has changed, the officer class is still primarly populated by toffs)

Although this topic has a comedic essence, it points out a serious concern for players. Prestige is too hard to earn. Why if I die in my Dread do I lose 200 extra prestige, but if i kill a dread I make only 10 extra prestige (it should be equal). Also, I can bomb, drop inf, and cap a planet and make very little prestige from all that work. Prestige should obviouly be earned, but currently prestige loss/gain is way outta wack.

With all the coming changes, I think the pres gain should be reverted back to before the map was changed...

high signal to noise ratio means there is high signal, or little noise. i think u ment there is a lotta noise, meaning there is an extremely low signal to noise ratio ...
(signal to noise ratio is the amount of signal, divided by the ever-present random noise)
