Interesting if you hold down the stop turn key and rapidly change between accelerating and deaccelerating it can cause it to incorrectly adjust speed I noticed yesterday. O.o
I have a tendency to hold down even the turn keys....and stop turning key is no exception and its the only way I've managed to desync my speed gauge without latency. O.o

Just shoot your old helm, infront of your new one. I'm sure things will straiten out quickly...
