ICC seem to have the most done so far.
WOW that is a lot of frigates XD

Only issue that really caught my eye was that the Sniper Frigate and Line Frigate are exactly the same, except that the Sniper Frigate has 3 more ECM, with no sacrifice.

Overall, though, love the new layouts.
Smaller ships look to be much more useful and pack a punch.

New players need ships that are fun and useful to the team. Having a flimsy scout or frigate with two measly cannons (The current layouts on metaverse) is not either of those things, so these changes are welcome.

P.S.
In my opinion.

While the smaller ships will now be more useful or powerful, please keep in mind that alone, on their own, they will still not be a direct match for the larger ships. They can harrass and annoy the larger ships, but if you want to take down a dread or station, you will need a group of these small ships working together effectively to do so.

Just something to remind the lot of you, and to manage your expectations, before the QQ starts.

And another thing(s)?

1. When might the system be applied to beta?

2. When after that might it be applied to MV?

1. When they get all the layouts done and the weapon hard points all figured out plus the weapon rebalance, I believe you have a good chance at seeing some new ship layouts in beta. But as walrus said they are working in their spare time so no one really knows how long its going to take.

2. Once all the ships have been throughly tested, the Mv backend changes are tested and completed, the weapon rebalance is done, the map is tested, kenny's layouts are all ironed out, and then whatever else the dev team decides to throw in there. All in all its going to take quite a bit of time to get all the this stuff tested.... a lot of time so there is not telling when it will hit Mv.

As for beta. The ICC frigates and Scout layouts are semi-implemented into Beta as I type to you right now. Whether or not these are the final layouts I cannot say but if anyone wants to try them out then that might make the beta testing phase go quicker if we test them as each type of layout comes out: Scout, Frigate, etc.

Testing them now is probably pointless.
The gadgets will have to be rebalanced as well.
So many things will have to be overhauled completely.

I would like to volunteer to help with hardpoint placements, if you guys are in need.

What I would do, though, is make a sheet of good hardpoints for each model of ship.
Name each coordinate, and recycle them across all ships of the same model where appropriate. (Things like engines and Aux gens can share the same locations across variants of the same hull, same with some types of weapons.)

Prob the free time to actually do it.
We're all volunteers and are doing this outside our work, family, spare time.

Depends on what kind of work. You'd have to speak to F or Jack abt it.

Entering the ships ingame is just simple database work, it just requires that you know how to copy lines without making typos, the hardest part is finding the right XYZ coordinates for all the devices and thats mostly trial and error unless you guys have some special program for it.

I'm surprised you know so much about how we enter stuff into the game.

Seeing as it has nothing to do with a database.

Or how to copy lines without typos.

If it was a simple fact of just the tier system that was holding back 1.7, it would have been done a while ago. There's a lot more to 1.7 behind the scenes than meets the eye; like significant core changes to how GCQS works (the backend to our chat system).

If making a game in your mind is so simple, I'd love to see you make a game like DarkSpace in but a few months - seeing as it's as simple as copying a few lines from a database .

Nothing gets on my nerves more than when arrogant people think they know what they are talking about.
