maybe at some point there could be faction specific planet bonus?

UGTO might get +1 mining and +1 production from Factorys (+2 mining for a Mantle Extractor)

ICC could have +10 power for each of their Generators

k'luth might have more dmg from their Defense bases or higher ECM / ECCM sig for their Sensor bases

just ideas.

giving one faction a lovely bonus would make the other two jealous.

would be better to give the individual planets that bonus

like an aggressive population that doesnt get demoralised easily, make defence bases do more damage and PD% and have strong infantry, but enter revolution, strike and smuggling easily

special minerals abundant on planet X which gives the structures higher HP, at a cost of reduced farm output.

special properties of the planet's atmosphere which makes solar generators and sensor/antisensor bases work 20% more effectively.

i would have quoted an example for increased population growth, but now you already know it.


so to say, dont make the faction unique by virtue of being UGTO/ICC/KLobster, make them unique by the planets they control. after all, its the bricks that make the house, not the other way around.

My take on it, is that it'd mean you'd have to in some scenario's require even more people to attack.

I would personally think that instead of bonuses for planets perhaps a bonus for systems would be better? Just an Idea that came to me in a fevered dream.

I think I'd much rather have planets that actually matter with a reason to fight over them. It'd certainly be less boring if you actually have to be proactive in defending important resource planets instead of just sitting around with nothing to do like is the case now a lot of the time.

I miss when I could take a small handful of people and backcap.. or even do something in the MI systems. Control and AI make this impossible.. and I grow bored sitting in the same system everyday fighting over the same three planets.. If we are going to be basically forced to stay in one system... at least add more planets...

not quite, unless only bonuses are implemented for planets. with some counterbalancing drawbacks, each planet would require a different way of capturing, defending and managing.

aggressive lobsters? blow off their farms and cause rebellion.
special infantry? blow off the mines to make them have less weapons, and therefore less armed infantry

I have not. Where is an image of it? From my understanding the current beta map is not going to be the new map and I would be terribly upset if it was. (Kluth and UGTO home systems next to each other? Lols)

Otherwise I do not much weigh my thoughts on what will happen in "two weeks".. rather whats in the here and now. You know.. what we have to play with for an unknown amount of time.
