I have problems installing DS.

When I download(in chrome), I get a message 'insufficient permissions'. I'm an administrator on this computer. IE says 'could not be downloaded'.

When I got GCQL to install, and hit metaverse, I got a message 'Do you want to install DarkSpace?', even though I already had it installed. When I clicked 'yes', GCQL crashed and GCQL.exe turned into some kind of text file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mylith.

You don't have sufficient permissions. You may have an administrator account, but that doesn't mean programs are running with administrative rights.

GCQL requires those rights to do what it does. Right click on GCQL.exe, go to the compatibility tab, and tick "Always run this program with administrative rights.". You should be good to go then. Also explains your problem with Chrome .

Are you using the "Official" Download?

Double check what jack said. And lastly Make sure it is installed in the Main file directory of your hard drive (Typically C:)

Wait....the same thing just happened with GCQL, even though I had it running as admininstrator(checked the box in compatibility).....

It's installed in C:\data .

I'd uninstall and reinstall it into C:\GCQL. Set the permissions on GCQL correctly, and double check your system account, because it sounds like you have conflicts somewhere.
