I do hope you know that it only encourages the use of luth due to their cloak and faster jump drive. Since humans can get tracked and killed where as luth it is hard (not saying its impossible but its very unlikely depending on the ship. With your chances dropping considerably the smaller the ship)

A month to get to admiral? Ive been playing for 2 years and just got admiral now.

And how much prestige have you lost dying? With about 14 days actual time played.. I mean.. its honestly not too hard to gain prestige.. even more so because of AI alone.

sounds interesting.. I don't have the time or the inclination to devote to this particular event, but I will donate 100,000 credits to the cause should it go ahead.

Thanks Rae, I had hoped more would be interested.. but I can see why people are cynical. Perhaps maybe just a handful of us may try just for fun and a change of pace.

You may want to consider pushing this back until after 1.7 release, you'd get more people participating. I really like this idea and hope it succeeds, but there are a few issues that immediately struck me.

And this is one of them. I don't know why anyone would choose ICC or UGTO when the advantage is clearly for luth. Since FF is illegal what's going to happen if almost everone is signed up as luth and have killed off all the ICC/UGTO within the first couple weeks?
Also, what's to stop people from using their main account to hunt down other people who have signed up and kill them off with no risk to their own "event" account?

Well.. I'm wanting for it to be something to do until the patch.. I know I'm not the only one seeking for something new to do.. and to keep the current playerbase busy.. as the players here and now are more important than the people that will log on for a week during a new patch.
People logging on 'mains' to hunt people down is basically the same as people not partaking in the event. Its encouraged.. however you'll be taking precious time away from the event on your event account away.
As for the kluth thing.. I guess it may have an advantage in some or most areas. But I personally would choose the faction I have the most expertise in.. with the players I play with everyday and know I can rely on to help me. But even if everyone chooses kluth.. you still have all the ICC and UGTO gunning for you.

Best thing i can think of there is either the honor system (yeah i know) or B mod intervention via checking what accounts are linked to what IP address. But that would add quite a load on to the mod team for an event.

Naw.. like I said.. its basically no different from a player not participating.. its going to be just as difficult eitherway.

I love the idea, but I would change it so it would be highest rank possible in the least amount of deaths and cut the prizes to per faction.

I personally agree that playing on Kluth would make it way too easy. The only reason my K'luth alt dies is because I let it. If you make it just ICC or UGTO, I would be all aboard.

I don't think this is possible... I mean, I've made it to 1st RA without dying, but past that point its a looong haul in a very terrible and dangerous universe.

It's very much possible if you have the proper experience and don't get unlucky and DC in the middle of combat.
