The more i think about it I like the [ALLY] idea as opposed to more points depending on ship size etc. Good idea

Lucky for you guys, it just got implemented in beta, check it out ^_^

I'm not 100% on if you lose prestige. But you definitely give a possibly enhanced ally to the captor now .

I'm not 100% on if you lose prestige. But you definitely give a possibly enhanced ally to the captor now .

It would be nice if ship captures had some predictable nature to them.
Right now all you can do is cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Something like this?:
Every infantry dropped on a target will deal a small amount of damage to hull and gadgets after 30 seconds, 1 infantry at a time, every 30 seconds until all are gone.
Once hull is down to about 20%, either from saboteur infantry or weapons fire, the next infantry in line will capture the ship.
The point at which a capture can happen could be dependent on the type of troop, the rank of the troop, and if it has a capture bonus, so a conscript might only capture at 5%, while a legendary raider could cap at 90% to give a rough idea.

I like the Idea of capped ships then being put into the captors garage. Would help balance the ships across factions if each faction could capture and use each others ships. Could work like this.
Enemy ship gets capped and is controlled by AI for duration of it being engaged in combat. Once combat is over it fly's to the nearest Shipyard and docks. at which point it appears (If there is room) in the capping players garage for use.
Catch is if it get's destroyed that's it. no relaunching it with 5% hull. When it's dead it's dead.
I would love to engage K'luth ships with their own.
also could provide lower ranked players the chance to fly something out of their league.
