I haven't played Dark Space in years!
13+ years this game has been around! Wow! That is persistence 
Microsoft spent $90million+ on a Halo MMO....scraped it. Tabula Rasa by Nexon? Scraped.
City of Heroes? Come and gone.
This place has somehow existed before and survived long after other games that had much much larger player bases. I'm not sure how, but Faust keeps hanging on.
I will admit that, while I don't play anymore, I am comforted by the persistence of this place
As for Star Citizen, yeah, I plopped down a couple hundred for a Hornet and a Mustang.
$65+ Million raised in contributions.....wow. But yeah, it reminded me of this place. All the space games I play (Sins of Solar Empire, Star Citizen (soon)) reminds me of this place.
