I'm taking a look at this now, I'm thinking that your missing a particular version of MFC DLL's that should be installed into your system by the installer.
I'll post another update when I find out more..

Ok, I think I actually have this fixed in the next update/installer that will go out for DarkSpace.
In the mean time, you should be able to install this KB from Microsoft to resolve your issue:

Recently, GCQL hasn't showed up fullscreen as it was before. I have to click maximize to see the windows. I didn't encouter this issue during 1.703 and before that.
May try to reinstall with stable 1.704 or 1.705 setup.
