i was wandering if we will get to see AI elites make a comeback to the game. that was one of my favorite pass times when no one was around, im sure most people would agree to this. so are they on the back burner or are they gone for good?

Back in 1.692 (i think it was) and in the early days of 1.7 (I think, I forget when AI were removed), the home systems of each faction were guarded by some AI that were consisntently around and were not exactly run of the mill stock ships. For example, i vaguely remember a k'luth AI elite dreadnought that had shock missiles, cannons on it, this was before the ganglia became a missile/cannon boat.. I cant remember its name atm but the point was that these AI were rather intelligent and would react in force to the slightest incursion or enemy prescence around a planet in the home system and would swarm their opponent.
This made it rather difficult for anyone to get a foot in anyone elses home system, although not impossible, but these AI each dropped some unique enhancements such as Tharis, Zllygs, Rogens, etc.
