Failed to Initialize Display? |

I keep getting this error message when I attempt to connect to a game. I also get Failed to initialize the platform, please run clientserup to check. i have a Rage LT PRO AGP 2X. Is there something I need to change? I have changed all the display modes and still get the same error. Any help you can give would be appreciated thank you.

Don't switch to any other windows while the client updater is running (after you've clicked Connect on a server), if the focus switches away, it iwll usually fail to initialize. If you keep it on the updated and the client as it launches, you probably won't have a problem.

I tried that and I still get the same error. Maybe I just cant play this game or something. If there is any info I can give for someone to help me I will gladly help.

Look if you can change your z-buffer settings somewhere in the driver settings. this helped for me.

Which driver are you using for your rage? A friend of mine got the same error every time. He got a Geforce 2 MX. But until he installed the latest Detonator it worked fine.

Just a thought...and probably doesn't apply...But have you tried going into setup and selecting the display again?
I change video drivers once and got the same error....after reselecting the video in setup it stopped.

well - ATI-card`s are not realy loved by this game but it has to work
after installing the newest driver`s go into the setup and reselect your card/resolution and so on
if it is not ok. after that - then we have to go on - you can play DS with this card
