Rank is your position in your factions military, from the lowliest cadet to the supreme Chief Marshals of the fleet. Your rank is determined by your Prestige score, which is DarkSpaces version of "Experience Points." Prestige is gained by doing positive things for your team like building [[Planetary Structures]], damaging enemy [[Ship]]s, supplying friendly ships, and bombing enemy [[Planets]]. Rank is independent of Badges, but a combination of high rank and high level badges are required for access to the most powerful ships.
