Oh really? Do you have any proof? I doubt it. Don't go around saying such things. It isn't the best thing in the world to say that people here at darkspace are hackers either.

Ha.
You do know that you can format your firewalls to allow packets from places that you specify, right? Problem solved.

I dont think any gamer can just become a hacker like that. It'd require a base in programming, which very few(On a global Scale) gamers actualy do.
Use programs to watch for those things, dont download off of shady sites, those kinda things.

??? Interfere how? I run Windows Firewall, a Router Firewall and Mcafee anti-virus, none of those interfere with my gaming at all. In fact the only time I've ever suspected one of interfering it turned out to be something else.
Now then if you mean lag-wise then just consider how much slower your computer runs with 64 trojans...
Running a PC without at least a rudimentary firewall and anti-virus is, no offense meant, foolish. There's no good reason not to run them...

| My god....how did your computer even boot up to allow you to run any sort of anti-virus program? 64 trojans????!!! That should down right killi any pc. Did you screenie the page that showed you all this? I would of loved to see it. Would be a new record in my book. |

Working occasionally at a semi-rural school district lets you have many opportunities to see stupid computer stuff. I remember running Windows Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware, Spybot and Mcafee on every elementary teacher's computer. Boy was that a scary experience, none of the computer had less than 20 spyware/virus's on it. Not a single one was clean. The worst by far we started Mcafee at the beginning of the day and ended up leaving to work on other ones and coming back before we left. 1016 virus's removed by Mcafee. The Ironic part? It was the principal, who was againsts people using their computer for things not related to school, who's computer was like that. Makes you wonder how he managed to get 1000+ virus's in a year (it's an annual check)

Anywho's.
This is what you do after you re-install GothThug.
Install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (shut up, anyone who feels like having a go because they're a Linux fanboy, go ahead, I'll shoot you down in 5 seconds).

Alright, let's have it windows Fanboy =P
Second, Zone Alarm Pro works pretty well and is pretty straight foward. That coupled with AVG should get you fairly protected.
