The thing is... most of the old DS ships will remain. The M400, the Mandi, the standard UGTO dread, just being a few examples. The M300 and Agincourt are up next. And if we can find the Krill/Brood model, that'll be in the pipeline too.
Then we'll move on to the cruisers and stations, before dessies, frigs and corvettes/scouts. It'll take time.
There are new models to complement the existing ones. But many of the existing models will have to be redone or reworked to correct any existing mesh errors as well as to make them look sharper next to the newer UV mapped models.
I know everyone wants new stuff. But it's important to update most or some of the old stuff too. To me, the old stuff's like the soul of DS. It's where the game came from and we don't wanna leave it behind.

Agreed, we should never, ever just delete old designs unless it is absolutely horrible, which none of the ships in DS are. Props to you for optimizing old designs, ICC and UGTO Standard dreads still have smexy designs even by today's standards. Mandible is cool too and should not be totally replaced.

Here's the rebuilt ICC M300 dread. I've added additional details to the hull, such as the bow and side launch bays, and the missile pods at the root of the nacelle spars.

Heh, thanks.
I've always looked at the M300 sorta like a Boeing 747. It's fat and bulky, but it's an icon.
Next up, Agincourt. And I'll probably be redesigning the new ICC Carrier. Still looks wrong somehow.
I'll even do a missile variant of this M300. This is apparently the carrier variant. Ditto the other model that's supposed to be a "Command Carrier". Then we have options to go with either model. [ This Message was edited by: Kenny_Naboo[+R] on 2012-11-19 20:09 ]

I'm hoping for an ICC CD/MD with more blocky engineering sections, I find the whole bulgy curvy thingy weird. Maybe a two level almost squared engine, with a section level spaced kittenher back with fighters...or missiles.
But, the ships that Kenny has made are still really sweet, and are worth that little tidbit.

Oh, I'm redoing the new Carrier. It'll be a little different from the first version. Watch this space

Giving ICC some loving...
The redesigned new ICC carrier. I've redesigned the entire nose, tail and superstructure of the ship to make it look more functional. It has been widened a bit to make it actually feel and look like a carrier.
Still up to Panth and Jim how they want to use this model. But I figured that perhaps ICC needs more than one carrier, just like UGTO. A Command Carrier, and a Supercarrier, which is more of a carrier and less of a command ship.

It's been a slow few weeks due to the holiday seasons.
Here's the Agincourt rebuild.
Next up, we have the 2nd version of the ICC M300 dread.
The M300 carrier which I posted earlier was:
It had that launch bay / hangar up front.
Over here, we have the M300 Missile variant. The ship loses the maw-like forward fighter launch bay, and gains a slight hump back profile which contains the missile silos.
Merry Xmas, DS!
