You know, not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving (after all, it's an American holiday, eh? There wasn't a French or German version of Squanto teaching everyone how to farm and plant corn )...

---EDIT: Funny how a European started this thread, too......

hmm.. oddly i'm not so sure my Native American ancestors are fond of the holiday either ... hell i'd bet Turkeys don't care for it!

but none-the-less have a great day, stay off the highway as it's traffic jams everywhere and try not to gain 50lbs eating

Thanksgiving is so much more than a day about being thankful to Indians, etc.

Thanksgiving is about life. It's about coming together with family once a year, and being humbled for the blessings you have recieved in your life.

In the last year, I have gotten a new, better job. I am engaged to be married. I am looking at moving back to Texas soon. I have many things that I can be thankful for.

Few of you know that I have 3 boys. A 14 year old, and twin 9 year olds. One of the twins is autistic and has cerebral paulsy. He used to be unable to speak coherently. He has a shunt (tube) that goes from the base of his skull to his stomach to drain off extra pressure. He has had many operations to fix things that weren't developed right, because they were born at 5 months old.

This year, I think I am most thankful, that he has begun to speak normally. He has begun to act normally. The fits are lessening. The self abuse is ebbing. At 9 years old, he has now begun to operate on the level of a 5 year old, and we can see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I wish everyone out there, American or not, a happy THANKSgiving. I hope that the next year will be good for all, and I hope that everyone finds themselves more thankful next year that this.

One year ago My nephew had Open Heart surgery, he now has an artifical Aortic valve. We spent last Thanksgiving at the Childrens Hospital.

This year you would never know he had it if you didn't see the Scar.

I am Thankful for the Progress My nephew has made.

I am Thankful for the Progress made by Az's son.

I am thankful that there are people in this world that help to make these things possible.
