well you see we found a way to stablise blackholes and devolped the wormhole drive.

sadly many mods died in stablising blackholes and making them dissapear.

well what did you expect we had to vent the mods and admins into the damn things .

but lets get back to serious when was the last game where you flew one ship that you played that actually had blackholes.

black holes are still theoretical.......

however, what good would one do in ds? what would its purpose be? Is it just for visual effects? How visual is a black void? It couldn't have any effect on game play.

And I can see the reports to the mods now:

/report yeah, been flying for a whole day to get to that black hole in Luyten, I'm outa gas and it isnt getting any closer...wtf yo?

not sure why they would bother, tbh.

There are blackholes in space, but I'd put the ratio of blackholes to regular stars as one:a few hundred millions. That makes them very rare even in the way too large space.

And since we have only 37 stars in DS, I suppose you need a better reason than "There are blackholes in space why not in DS?" to justify yourself.

black holes in the main server ... NO
black holes in scenarios ... YES ?
a sceanrio wouldn't just end all of a suddent, a black hole would eat everything unless 1 faction defeats the other and WH's out or somethin (my story is just an example)

Black holes I think are accepted as fact now. It's white holes that are theoretical now.

But yeah what's the point of black holes ingame other than something interesting in the background?

They are accepted because they make the math work, that doesn't make them fact.

star trek armada had them. they sucked in and destroyed derelict ships, not something you wanted to be around if your engines go offline in a fight.

I think the point of a blackhole in DS would be the same as anything else -- more game content. which I think DS needs a lot more of to wake people up.

too bad resources are limited.
