Sounds worth my while to set us up a hamachi server then.
Server IP and hamachi information should be up either later today or sometime tomorrow.
If there are any mods etc etc that you guys want, tell me and i'll do what I can. (The server will be running on either my windows 7 laptop 24/7, or windows 7 gaming computer when we need more power. (Files will be synced via dropbox, so there shouldn't be any problem switching over other than about 5 minutes down time.)
EDIT: I would run it on my Ubuntu server 24/7 with better specs than the laptop, but last time I tried, Ubuntu said FFFFUUUUUUU, no minecraft for you!"

Whats wrong with the normal internet, a custom port and Minecraft Whitelist ?
O well fine, but that limits my options when able to play a lot.
Anyhow, i am all for a nice minecraft server, just never had the patience to build me a custom non vanilla package to run from a dedi.. Go for it!
P.s. If ya can. Include a map, generated for by example Tectonicus. I tend to get lost fast when building long range tunnels

the first one adds pipes to the game, which can pull contents from containers ( eg. chests) into a pipeline and transport it somewhere else (eg another chest or furnace )
it also adds a mining well to the game, which drills down to bedrock and ejects mined blocks upward (or into a connected pipeline)
the last great thing from buildcraft: an automatic workbench: you create a blueprint and whenever the required items are sent into the workbench, the item will be made (eg you put 1 wood into it, and it will spit out 4 planks )
the second one make many things much easier
- electro furnaces dont require any fuel except electicity
- ore (iron, tin, gold, copper) can be grinded into 2 dust, doubling your effective yield
- recyclers can change unwanted items into ...recycled waste... which can be rebuild into random items
both addons run perfectly together
- mining well digs down to bedrock
- mined blocks will be but into pipe
- ore wil be filtered and grinded imto dust
- dust will be filtered to the furnances
- smelted ore will be sent to a storage chest (or to an automatic workbench to produce tools)
- unwanted items (gravel ) will be recycled and turned into some random stuff
maybe i can upload the minecraftserver files later
if you just want to get creative, toomanyitems might also be a nice mod (ingame inventory-editor)
