Actually, I did in fact try to ask him. He seemed AFK and after 10 minutes logged off.
I am part of other online communities, and I oftenly ask people "Why do you think it's boring". Most of them say the interface looks older than the game graphics. They say it just looks plain and boring.
I think that people have become addicted to flashy menus and good looking interfaces that they immediately think that a game that has such a plain interface must be boring. I did try to argue with them, but hey it's their opinion.
I think the interface is fine. It gives the game that feeling of it being tactical. A true MMORTS.

Its kind of sad, but true. People will turn down the most awesome games because it isn't the flashy, in your face animated and minimalist interface that many have come to expect and hold their hands through.
Welcome to video games being a commodity like any else, to be exploited for profit at any expense, because its cheaper to make a good looking game than to make a good playing game.

before we talk about getting new players how about we go back to last years set up and get back the large amount of people that left.....

Reverting all of a year's work is not a way to go forward. Best to recruit new players now and work on matters so in the future people'll enjoy the game more.

I agree. 1.674 looks awesome. I haven't been invloved long enough in previous version such as 1.5 to give my opinion as to why there should or shouldn't be a rollback to it, but I think that going forward is the way to go.

| as most do including me but its not uncommon knowledge that ICC has taken its fair share of hits since then and the Dev's are working greatly to get this game back to where we can get people back so i cant wait to whats instore

1.674 does look good, but I still really dislike the idea of basically turning ICC shields into UGTO armor.

The backend has gone through significant performance optimisations since 1.5, so we won't be rolling back anything.
I know some of you disliked the planetary changes, but there was nothing else we could do unless we started altering the very reason why combat in DarkSpace is fun - it's realtime, and we don't do crappy dice rolls to pre-determine if something hits or not.
We will be itterating on it at some point, but we have limited man power and time, and we feel that time would be better spent making the combat more balanced at the moment. Once that is done, we'll go back to feature tweaking.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the skirmish shields.
However they remind me of standard, ablative, and reflective armor(active, skirmish, reactive).
Another concern of mine was that the reactives aren't going to be useful on anything but a border cruiser(nothing else can do damage and carry that big of a sensor load-out).
