this is the best idea in the history of ever. this will magically fix all the current problems, paint darkspace in a positive light, cause hundreds of thousands of players to join up and will not backfire in any possible way.
| i agree with doran, steam would help alot. but i doubt more then 100 players would be on at any time.
so what if steam recieves 80% of funds alot more players would mean you all wouldnt have to valunteer. maybe get paid actual %

Things that are anoying and made me and some friends stopped playing are the jump drive that takes to long to charge and makes the game very slow. Players rank up to play with dreads and stations and some with cruisers, imagine if a fight is 2 sistems away how long will make to get there ?? Well i get bored to travel 10 minutes foa 1 mi ute fight. The second thing that i dont like is that torpedos range is very , very low. It used to be a longer range with less damage and it really made the game more imterested. Oh and the last one is planet dences ....planets are useless, dictors on them aint working , bombing and killing a planet is for any newb and is very easy. No pd like it used to be. So in my opinion the game should get better not worse. Trust me if this changes take place you will see alot of people back. Till then ill play Ps4 games! Have a good day !
| Well said jumpdrives take way to long, and planets are way to easy to capture.
Many years ago the planets used to have stunning graphics and did actual damage if built right. misiles and torps, now its barely visible if you zoom all the way in.

I have made it harder to capture via revolt bombing, let me know if that has improved things (this should be in release). I can always push it up another notch and make it another order of magnitude harder to capture.
I have made a change in beta in regards to jump drives that increases recharge by 30% when out of combat that also needs checking out . [ This Message was edited by: Pantheon on 2018-03-25 21:35 ]

i quit cause you got rid of the AI, in a game where anyone hardly plays as it is, you need to Add FA back scale it just like back in the golden days. add back interchangeable weapons and modules from captured faction colony's give us back all mods. hell if you need to ditch the meta do it, with FA back everyone will be back in one server and we can finally play the game instead of using it for a planet bombing/building sim

100 on at one time now that would be awesome.
I thought GameCQ was considered "competetition" wich kept darkspace off steam? Has valves policy changed?

I agree to steam, i know it feels like giving away a part of the game. but it might attract a lot of new players. It would be nice to see Dark space relive again. The main problem is that no new players come across dark space since there is no marketing happening at all.
Another idea is if you could make it run on mobile.

Now we have discord we no longer have a use for GameCQ which steam has always viewed as some sort of competitor (not sure why as there is nothing in it other than a chat windows and a link to launch Darkspace, so with the use of Discord we can now rip out GameCQ and give Darkspace its own direct launch .exe and get the game on Steam finally, I am sure it is not that difficult to do for any competent developer/programmer.
Bring back the old K'luth cloak, the time we had immense battles with cloaking and decloaking, getting pinged by UGTO/ICC ECCM and beacons meant it was equally dangerous for K'luth players, you had to play smart whether you were solo or flying as a group, it is a shame it got removed and change because some people did not know how to play, and drove off all the K'luth regulars.
